What "verified" means on Script Unlock
Two checks, done by a person, before a pharmacy can see or respond to a prescription. This page says what they cover, what they do not, and what a pharmacy agrees to.
What is checked
State board license
The pharmacy license is looked up on its state board of pharmacy’s public verification site. It must be active and issued to the business that applied.
NPI record
The NPI number is looked up in the NPPES registry. Name, address and pharmacy type must match the application.
A person decides
Applications are reviewed by the founder, not approved automatically. If something does not line up we ask for documents, and if it cannot be resolved the pharmacy is not admitted.
What is not checked
- We do not inspect premises or audit dispensing.
- We do not verify USP compounding compliance; compounding pharmacies are responsible for meeting federal and state rules.
- We do not verify DEA registration; a pharmacy quoting on a controlled-substance prescription is responsible for holding the registration the law requires.
- We do not rate pharmacies or rank them by quality.
- We do not verify individual pharmacist licenses, only the pharmacy license.
What a pharmacy agrees to
- Quote only on prescriptions you can fill as written. A quote is for the drug, strength and quantity on the prescription.
- The quoted price is the price the patient pays at the counter. Any separate delivery or compounding charge must be stated in the quote.
- If the prescription turns out to differ from what was uploaded, tell the patient the new price before dispensing; the patient may walk away.
- Do not substitute a different drug, form or strength through the platform. Only the prescriber changes a prescription.
- Do not use patient data for anything other than responding to that patient’s request.

Questions
Does verification mean a pharmacy is safe?
It means the pharmacy holds an active state license and its NPI record matches. That is the same standard a walk-in customer relies on. It is not an inspection, a quality rating or an endorsement.
What happens if a pharmacy’s license lapses?
It is suspended from quoting until the license is active again. If a patient reports a problem we cannot resolve with the pharmacy, the same applies.
Can I report a pharmacy?
Yes. Email support@scriptunlock.com with the order reference. We will contact the pharmacy, and suspend it from quoting while the issue is open if the report is serious. Complaints about dispensing itself belong with the state board of pharmacy, which we can point you to.
Do you publish how many pharmacies are verified?
No. The marketplace is early and we do not publish network sizes, fill rates or response times until there is enough completed order data to stand behind them.
