    Every request on Script Unlock is a prescription a patient has uploaded because they want a cash price. You are not competing with an insurance copay; you are competing with the other pharmacies that quote.

    You set the price on every request

    There is no schedule, no MAC list and no coupon price set by someone else. You see the drug, strength and quantity and decide what to quote. If it is not worth your while, you do not quote.

    Nothing to integrate

    An accepted quote is a cash-pay walk-in. You dispense in your own pharmacy management system and take payment at the counter. Script Unlock does not touch your claims, your PBM contracts or your PSAO membership.

    We check every pharmacy against its NPI record and state license before it can see or respond to a request. Patients are told this, and it is the reason they upload a prescription to a marketplace they have not used before.

    Script Unlock is early. The pharmacies joining now are shaping how requests are routed, how long the response window is and what the dashboard shows. We do not publish network size, request volume or fill rates, because at this stage any figure would be a projection dressed up as a record.

    Questions pharmacies ask

    What does Script Unlock cost a pharmacy?
    A subscription of $149 per month per pharmacy location, plus a 4.5% fee on the value of orders fulfilled through the platform. There is no setup fee, no minimum term and no exclusivity. You can cancel the subscription in any month.
    Is there a free trial?
    No. We would rather tell you exactly what it costs than run a trial we cannot support yet. The subscription is month to month, so the first month is the trial.
    How does the marketplace work?
    A patient uploads a prescription they intend to pay cash for. Verified pharmacies serving that patient can see the request and each may respond with its own cash price for the drug, strength and quantity on the prescription. The patient chooses a pharmacy and pays that pharmacy directly at pickup. Script Unlock never handles the patient payment.
    What do you check before a pharmacy can quote?
    We check the pharmacy against its NPI record and its state board license before it can see or respond to a prescription. The check is done by a person, not an automated approval, so it can take a few business days.
    Do I have to change how I dispense or bill?
    No. A Script Unlock order is a cash-pay walk-in as far as your pharmacy management system is concerned. You dispense in your own system and take payment at the counter as you normally would. Nothing is adjudicated through a PBM.
    Can I keep my PBM contracts and insurance business?
    Yes. Script Unlock only involves prescriptions the patient has chosen to pay cash for, and it sends nothing to your PBMs, insurers or PSAO. The one thing to check is how your network contracts define usual and customary price, because some count the cash prices you charge, quotes included.     How is this different from GoodRx and other discount cards?
    A discount card sets the price for you and routes the claim through a PBM. On Script Unlock you set your own price for each request, the patient pays you directly, and no PBM is involved in the transaction. We do not sell prescription data.
    Can compounding pharmacies join?
    Yes, subject to the same verification. Requests for compounded medications are shown to compounding pharmacies that serve the patient. Compounded products must comply with federal and state compounding rules; Script Unlock does not adjudicate that and does not list unverified pharmacies.
    How many patients will I see?
    We do not publish request volumes or network sizes, because the marketplace is early and any figure would be a projection rather than a record. If you want to know what demand looks like in your area before subscribing, ask; the founder replies personally.
