State-licensed pharmacies only
Every pharmacy on Script Unlock holds an active license in the state where they dispense. We cross-check NPI registration against state board of pharmacy records before any pharmacy can place a bid.
HIPAA-compliant infrastructure
Prescription uploads are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Access is role-restricted and audit-logged. Pharmacies only see what they need to quote a price.
No upfront payment from patients
Patients never pay Script Unlock to compare prices. You pay the winning pharmacy directly at pickup or delivery — the same way you would at any normal pharmacy.
Licensed pharmacists available
Every dispensing pharmacy has a registered pharmacist-in-charge. If you have a clinical question — interactions, side effects, substitutions — a licensed pharmacist answers it before you fill.
How Script Unlock verifies pharmacies
Every pharmacy passes five verification checks before they can place a bid. You can re-run any of these checks yourself — the registries are public.
NPI registry match
We pull the pharmacy’s NPI from the CMS National Plan and Provider Enumeration System and confirm the name, address, and taxonomy code match what they submitted.
State board of pharmacy lookup
For every state the pharmacy operates in, we verify an active, unrestricted license against the state board’s public registry. Expired, suspended, or surrendered licenses are auto-rejected.
DEA registration check
If the pharmacy intends to dispense controlled substances, their DEA registration is confirmed against the DEA Diversion Control Division registration validation system.
Pharmacist-in-charge verification
The PIC must hold an active pharmacist license in the dispensing state. We confirm their license number on the state board registry before activating bidding.
Ongoing monitoring
License status is re-checked on renewal cycles. Disciplinary actions, suspensions, or closures pull the pharmacy off the platform automatically.
What Script Unlock does with your data
Three things you should know before you upload anything to any pharmacy site.
What pharmacies see
A redacted view of your prescription — medication name, strength, quantity, and your ZIP code. Pharmacies do not see your full name, address, phone, email, or insurance information until you accept a bid.
What we never sell
We do not sell prescription history, medication searches, contact information, or any patient identifier to PBMs, advertisers, data brokers, or third parties. This is a written policy enforced contractually.
What we delete
Uploaded prescription images are deleted from active storage after the bid window closes. Audit logs retain hashed references only — not the prescription content itself.
Script Unlock doesn't have these. Most sketchy sites do.
