How Script Unlock Verifies Every Pharmacy
Before a pharmacy can respond to your prescription, a person checks it against its NPI record and its state board license. This page says exactly what is checked and what is not.

NPI record
The pharmacy's NPI number is looked up in the NPPES registry and matched to the business that applied: name, address and pharmacy type must agree.

State board license
The pharmacy license is checked on its state board of pharmacy's public verification site. The license must be active and in the name of the applying business.

A person reviews the application
There is no automated approval. The founder reviews each application, and may ask for supporting documents if something does not line up.

Then, and only then, quoting is switched on
A pharmacy cannot see or respond to any prescription until the checks above are complete. Prescriptions are shown only to verified pharmacies that can serve the patient.

Suspension
A pharmacy whose license lapses, or that a patient reports for a problem we cannot resolve, is suspended from quoting until the issue is cleared.
What This Means for You
Every pharmacy that can quote on Script Unlock has had its NPI record and state license checked by a person. That confirms it is a real pharmacy with an active license. It does not guarantee how a pharmacy runs day to day, so if anything goes wrong with an order, tell us and we will look into it.
